ChromX® Phenyl-Hexyl by CHROMOSEP is an advanced reverse phase HPLC column engineered to deliver exceptional selectivity, resolution, and reproducibility for complex aromatic compounds. Designed with an extended six-carbon hexyl linker connecting the phenyl functional group to the silica surface, ChromX® Phenyl-Hexyl offers a distinct selectivity profile compared to conventional C18 and C8 columns. This unique structural modification enhances π–π interactions and hydrophobic retention, enabling precise separation of a wide range of aromatic hydrocarbons, polycyclic compounds, and substituted benzene derivatives.The longer hexyl chain provides balanced hydrophobic and dispersive forces, resulting in stronger analyte–stationary phase interactions and improved retention for aromatic and semi-polar compounds. Its gas-phase endcapped silica surface minimizes residual silanol activity, producing sharper peaks, greater reproducibility, and longer column life.
